Gas Station Drugs?

 Join Us to Learn More About This Emerging Trend and Its Potential Impact on Youth and Young Adults.

Emergency Services and Poison Control are reporting a surge in calls and hospital visits due to "Gas Station" drugs. Kratom, Delta 8, Phenibut,   7-OH, and Tianeptine are a few on the ever-evolving list of these unregulated and often mislabeled drugs. These psychoactive substances are readily available in convenience stores and vape shops.  Dr. Merrill Norton, renowned pharmacologist and addiction specialist,  will teach us about these substances, how to spot them, and the consequences of their use.  

Our Speaker: Dr. Norton is a Clinical Associate Professor Emeritus from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. His specialty areas include psychopharmacology and addiction pharmacy. Dr. Norton has worked with impaired pharmacists and other health care professionals for well over 25 years and is the former Director of the Recovering Pharmacists Program at the Talbott Recovery Campus.  Dr. Norton is the President and CEO of Chemical Health Associates, Inc., of Athens, Georgia, a national consulting organization for mental health, alcohol, and drug services.
