It's easy to overdose. Most incidents are accidental, an unintended consequence of using counterfeit prescription or street drugs with unknown additives.
Opioid overdoses (poisoning) are a concern across all age groups.
The substances causing these overdoses are many and easy to obtain.
Fentanyl, an extremely dangerous drug, is increasingly found in all types of street drugs.
ANYONE can easily access drugs online and at home!
Whatever the source or the cause, IT IS POSSIBLE FOR ANYONE TO REVERSE an overdose.
Learn what is happening locally to prevent overdose deaths in our community. Hear a local parent's and a DHS graduate's perspective.
Learn how to identify a potential overdose, how to administer NARCAN®, and other potential life-saving information.
In 2014, Georgia passed the Medical Amnesty Law. This law stipulates, "that anyone seeking medical assistance for themselves or someone else for a drug overdose cannot be charged with a drug violation if the evidence of the drug violation results 'solely from seeking such medical assistance.'
