Where is your family going?
Join the Decatur Parents Network in February to learn how to eliminate family chaos and have a calmer home.
Do you have a Family Mission Statement? Yes or No?
Before you can get where you want to go, you need to know where you are. That is what a mission statement is all about. Knowing your family's mission helps you know when to say "yes" and when to say "no."
Stay focused on your vision for each child.
Once you identify your Family Mission Statement, you're ready to get focused. And that's where a vision for your children comes in. A vision makes it easier to know what behavior you will allow and what you won't.
When you are faced with the question "Should I give a consequence or let it go?" your vision will provide the answer! Ask >
"Does this behavior interfere with my vision for my child?"
If the answer is yes, then you want to address the misbehavior.
If the answer is "no, " you can relax and let it go.
Easy. Pretty cool, huh?
