Bullying, Cyberbullying, & Bias

What Your Kids Want You to Know

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018, 7pm

DHS Performing Arts Center
310 North McDonough Street, Decatur, Georgia 30030

Decatur’s School Climate Surveys reveal one in six Decatur High School students, and one in five Renfroe Middle School students report being bullied or threatened in the last 30 days. Nationally, 28% of students between the ages of 12-18 report being bullied at school and 24% report being bullied online.

Unfortunately, statistics also show that 48% of bullied students do not tell anyone that it's happening.

Join us to learn about the scope of bullying and cyberbullying, as well as the roles of a bias incident. We will also look at strategies, tips, guiding principles, and resources to help parents, family members, and caregivers promote critical conversations about ways to be an ally and steps to respond.
